VIDEO ANALYTICS
In a normal security system setup, one depends on the guard-on-duty to be watching the video from different cameras, looking for any abnormal activity. With Video Analytics, we wake up the guard when there is an abnormal event. Simplest example of such an event is when there is “Motion” in the field of view of a camera when nobody is supposed to be present. The camera picks up this motion and sends an alert to the guard to pay attention to the one or two cameras that are relevant for that situation.
Video analytics is the practice of using computers to automatically identify things of interest without an operator having to view the video. The most commonly used types of video analytics professionally deployed are perimeter violation, license plate recognition and people counting. Many different functionalities can be implemented by Video Analytics. Video Motion Detection is one of the simpler forms where motion is detected with regard to a fixed background scene. More advanced functionalities include video tracking and egomotion estimation. Based on the internal representation that VCA generates in the machine, it is possible to build other functionalities, such as identification, behavior analysis or other forms of situation awareness.
Can a camera predict a crime, and help prevent it?
A smart IP camera with the right Video Analytics can be programmed to ignore a person moving about, but as soon as it sees a congregation of 2 or more people – even in total darkness, it will generate an alert so the authorities can take action, or it can automatically turn on special lights which will discourage the wrong activity.
In an employee parking lot, as long as employees are moving in a systematic fashion towards a car, the camera knows that it is normal activity. But if the camera notices a person wandering or loitering, possibly looking to steal a car, it will generate an alert so the guard at the command center can track the person, or a roving patrol officer can go to the spot and find out what the problem is, or the camera can turn on some lights/noise to discourage the potential crime.
Video Analytics today are smart enough to perform many smart functions, including identifying people/cars going the wrong way, detecting people/cars crossing a virtual boundary line, spot an object left behind by someone, or spot an object that was present, but now is missing. With the latest in high resolution IP technology, there is practically no limit on the “Smart” things that a camera can be taught.
That is the advance feature of Video Analytics. It makes the guard smarter. It can detect a potential crime. It can prevent a potential crime. It can do a lot more.
Video Analytics camera system has few disadvantages like:
1). More expensive.
2). Maintenance Problem.
3). Reducing False Alert.

ok so I got a psp slim(silver 2001 model) from a friend today Im sure he hasnt ever tried to update or put cfw on it, he said he got pissed and threw it around lmao…..so anyways I get the green power light and no screen or sound or nothing, if I try to turn it off like flick it once it doesnt do the little flickering light then shut off it doesnt do anything, if I hold the power switch it shuts off…Im not sure what to do any ideas?
