The leading source of RFID news and strategic insights is now accepting submissions for the 2011 RFID Journal Awards, which will be awarded at RFID Journal LIVE! 2011, to be held on Apr. 12-14, at the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando, Fla.

RFID Journal, the world’s leading media and events company covering radio frequency identification (RFID), today announced that it is accepting submissions for the 2011 RFID Journal Awards, which recognize businesses that have distinguished themselves by their successful use of radio frequency identification (RFID). The deadline for all awards submissions is Jan. 31, 2011.

“In previous years, the awards have been given to several prestigious firms, including Airbus, DHL and Hewlett-Packard,” said Mark Roberti, RFID Journal‘s founder and editor. “Companies should be sure not to miss this unique opportunity to be recognized in the RFID and end-user community.”

The 2011 RFID Journal Awards will be given in six categories, including a new RFID Green Award, for best use of RFID to protect the environment, improve recycling or enhance sustainability. The other award categories are as follows:

This award will be given to the end-user company that has demonstrated the best use of RFID to improve its manufacturing, supply chain or retail operations. The winner will be a firm that demonstrates how RFID is delivering real value to its shareholders.

A team of judges will select 10 finalist, and the winner will be chosen by the editors of RFID Journal at RFID Journal LIVE! 2011.

This award will be given to three individuals who have contributed to the RFID industry. It can be awarded to end users, researchers, vendors, inventors, standards developers and others who have contributed to the advancement of the entire industry.

RFID Journal‘s editors will select an independent panel of judges to evaluate entries and choose this year’s winners. Submissions are due no later than Jan. 31, 2011. An award ceremony will be held at RFID Journal LIVE! 2011, RFID Journal‘s ninth annual conference and exhibition, which will be held on Apr. 12-14, 2011, at the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando, Fla. The winning entries will also be featured in an issue of RFID Journal magazine.
