CCTV shows Wellingborough murder suspect's visit to victim

CCTV images of a visitor to the home of a Hungarian man later found murdered have been released by detectives in Northamptonshire.
A man visited KarolyVarga, 76, at his home in Wellingborough at midday on 27 July.
Footage shows the man knocking on MrVarga’s door and going in when it opened. After a few moments the curtains are drawn.
This man did not leave the property through the front door, police said.

MrVarga, known as Charlie, was found dead at his home in Cannon Street on 30 July shortly after midday following a call to police by a concerned relative.
Det Chief Insp Martin Kinchin said: “When Charlie’s body was found the front door was locked with the keys on the inside, therefore I am confident the offender left from the rear of the property taking with them a hatchet like weapon.

“After the attack the offender was probably bloodstained to some degree and would have needed to dispose of or wash both their clothing and the weapon.

“It seems that Charlie freely let his attacker into his home, so I believe he knew that person or at least knew of that person.”
A 47-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder has been released without charge.
Two men, aged 30 and 31 and two women aged 26 and 31, arrested on 4 August on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, remain on police bail.
