RSS: By using RSS it will be more easy for an end user to browse through the internet and to get the latest update.

  • RSS makes the web content available in a format that can be universally understood by other people.
  • RSS is a mini database that contains headlines and descriptions of a full article of your web content, including hyperlinks that enable users to link back to the full article of their choice.
  • It have colorful graphics to indicate to users that the specific web content is available through RSS feeds.
  • Graphics are usually depicted by orange rectangles that are usually marked with ‘RSS’ or ‘XML’.

History:

The very first version of RSS was created in March 1999 for use on the My.Netscape.Com portal. This version became known as RSS 0.9. In July 1999 of Netscape produced a new version, RSS 0.91, which simplified the format by removing RDF elements and incorporating elements from scripting News syndication format. Later on renamed RSS as “Rich Site Summary” and outlined further development of the format in a “futures document”. Later on new version RSS 1.0 is produced in December 2000. This version reclaimed the name RDF Site Summary from RSS 0.9, reintroduced support for RDF and added XML namespaces support, adopting elements from standard metadata vocabularies. In September 2002, a major new version of the format, RSS 2.0 is released that redubbed its initials Really Simple Syndication. RSS 2.0 removed the type attribute added in the RSS 0.94 draft and added support for namespaces. This effectively made the logo as orange square with white radio waves which is the industry standard for RSS.

I pretty much refuse to comment on blogs that require you to use a blogger profile. I just hate logging into that old blogger account that much. Thank you so much for using an easy commenting system! Makes your site professional for people without a website =)
