A Card Access System: A Smarter Way To Go

A card access system may be the most economical way to protect your interests. People are willing to pay out a lot of money for security to protect their companies from outside sources and sometimes even the internal sources. To have the best cutting edge security will cost more than you are willing or able to pay for. However there are affordable ways to protect your company.

A card access system will work very well with other security devices and give you a redundant way to ensure that only the right people are where they are supposed to be. Security guards can be costly and there is always the potential for human error. Even if a guard is necessary, a card system will free up the guard for other duties and offer an additional layer of security.

The access cards, door controls, card readers and software are the key components of every card access system. Regardless of the size of your business, this security prevention system will serve your needs beyond your expectations.

This system can be used for one main door or for every door that is one or more buildings. This system can track an employee from the time they reach the entrance to the time they leave the property. You can grant someone access to a building but not give them access to the entire building and all of it facilities.

A big internal security concern is the event of an employee separation. It is one thing when the separation occurs on good terms. However if the separation occurs with a disgruntled employee this could be a severe security risk. The software for the card access system closes the gap in security and the steps are relatively easy. By changing a couple settings, your security officer can deny access to any or all employees. This will also come in handy as employees change departments.

Some of the money that you put out for the card system can be recovered from the money that will be saved in the payroll department. The software for the card access system can be integrated with most payroll software. So when an employee gains access to their department, they are clocking in for the first time in the morning. This can make it easier to run the payroll department with fewer people, since there will not be any time sheets or time cards to contend with.

When it comes to IT security, there a few very common issues that plaque every IT department. This card system addresses some of those issues with realistic resolutions. You can get a smart card that will not only give a user access and make an electronic time stamp; you can use the smart cards to log in and out of the company’s network.

Passwords are becoming a thing of the past and many are glad that there are alternatives. People forget passwords and they need them reset. And those that do not need their password reset, have written it down and stored it under their keyboard or right on the monitor. A lot of employees to do not remember to log off before they leave for the day, the smart card will log a user out and prevent unwanted users on your network.
